Varsity Indoor Track
Athletes and Parents!
There are 2 important announcements that need to be made.
As of right now, tomorrow, Thursday the 20th, we will be having practice at our regularly scheduled time. Despite wacky schedule, FCPS has not canceled afterschool activities. If that were to change, more announcements would follow, but, for the time being, plan on being at the school for practice at 3:30.
This weekend's meet at Chantilly (1/22) has been canceled. In addition, there are no plans to reschedule. Every feasible alternative was proposed and discussed, from hosting the meet across multiple days and times, but the conditions over the next week will make those options impossible.
In the meantime, every athlete is to continue practicing through next Tuesday, the 25th. In the interim, we will decide upon our Post-Season Roster (including alternates) and figure out a distinct way for those not continuing on to end their season. So much hard work has been put into this season that we will find a way for everyone to see it through to a satisfactory conclusion.
As always, I will communicate any changes across our platforms (Website, Facebook, Schoology, Instagram, Twitter) so stay tuned and Go Bulldogs!
Make sure to join the Schoology group so that you have another avenue to receive up-to-date news, information, and, especially, OYO Training!
Welcome to Track & Field! We are looking forward to a unique, interesting, unprecedented, and exciting season! Please make sure you join the Facebook Group (Westfield Track and Field) and follow us on Twitter and Instagram (@westfield_tf)!
The Tryout Period will be from Monday November 8th to Friday November 12th and Roster spots will be finalized by that date. Time Trials will be held on Wednesday November 10th and Thursday November 11th. Make ups will be held on a TBD basis.
Starting November 8th, students who are 16 years or older are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a medical or religious exemption on file in order to participate in Virginia High School League (VHSL) Winter and Spring sports for the remainder of the 2021-2022 school year
Unvaccinated students 12-15 years of age must provide a negative COVID-19 test weekly to participate in team activities.
Westfield is now accepting proof of vaccination, or qualified exemptions, for students.
Proof of vaccination is provided by showing the student's vaccination card to Terri Towle, Director of Student Activities. Scan and email it to email@example.com or a copy of the vaccination card can be dropped off in the Activities Office.
Medical Exemptions must be submitted through a letter from the student's doctor, on the doctor's office letterhead, stating the student has a medical condition that prevents them from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Students who are not receiving the COVID-19 vaccine due to documented health or medical reasons will be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test every week. Medical Exemptions can be submitted to Terri Towle, Director of Student Activities, firstname.lastname@example.org. A copy of the Medical Exemption can also be dropped off in the Activities Office
Religious Exemptions must be submitted through Commonwealth of Virginia Certificate of Religious Exemption Form and must be notarized. Students who are not receiving the COVID-19 vaccine due to religious reasons will be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test every week. Religious Exemptions can be submitted to Terri Towle, Director of Student Activities, email@example.com. A copy of the Religious Exemption can also be dropped off in the Activities Office
Proof of vaccination must be submitted by November 1, 2021
Weekly Testing will be required for unvaccinated students 12-15 and those who qualify for medical or religious exemptions. The test will need to be either a rapid test or a PCR test. Home testing using over-the-counter testing products will not be accepted.
